The Benetti Mediterraneo 116’ Signifies a New Era for the Iconic Italian Shipyard.

The exterior of the Mediterraneo 116’ is a testament to Italian design. The smooth and slender lines conceived by Giorgio M. Cassetta draw from the heritage of Benetti while at the same time introduce a new era of modernized design. Cassetta describes his inspiration stating, “We wanted to create a yacht conceived to tackle future challenges, but without betraying the spirit of Benetti’s most glorious past projects”. Cassetta’s forward thinking design showcases pure lines that are accentuated with generous 3 meter long “picture” windows to promote luminosity throughout the interior spaces. Overall, the Mediterraneo 116’s balanced exterior design is one that leaves a lasting impression.

Similar to the exterior, the interior lives up to Benetti’s standards of excellence. The interior maximizes usable space and natural light to promote a flowing, harmonious layout. When stepping onto the main deck cockpit, you are left in awe of the unobstructed views of the sea, a common theme throughout the yacht’.  The 6 meter wide cockpit seamlessly flows into the main salon lounge courtesy of a 2 meter wide opening, which was intelligently designed without any structural elements to alter the fluid lines. Moving forward to the main deck dining area, you immediately notice the generous “picture” windows that provide a memorable dining experience for up to twelve guests. The main deck owner’s suite is situated forward and takes advantage of the generous 7.72 meter beam. Once again, large windows on each side of the suite provide dramatic ocean views and fill the room with natural light.

The lower deck features Benetti’s signature layout of two VIP suites aft and two cabins with twin beds forward. Each cabin is generously supplied with natural light and open spaces. There are also accommodations for six crew members in three double cabins and a captain’s cabin by the helm station, all of which are situated to promote maximum privacy for the owners.

On the upper deck, the Mediterraneo 116’ seamlessly combines the luxuries of the interior spaces with the pleasures of the exterior spaces. The sky lounge provides the ideal environment to relax with company, while providing elevated views of the ocean. Large sliding glass doors provide access from the sky lounge to the 50 square meter terrace that features an outdoor lounge, alfresco dining, and a bar for entertaining.

Benetti continues the theme of maximizing space and comfort throughout the exterior spaces. The main deck features a forward beach area with an optional pool to provide the perfect environment to enjoy the good life. Benetti and Cassetta also utilized loose furniture on the bow to provide the owner with enhanced flexibility and unobstructed ocean views.

Moving to the sprawling upper sundeck, the Mediterraneo 116’ has an impressive 80 square meters of usable space that is 16 meters long. The sundeck showcases ample amounts of space for alfresco dining, sun bathing, and enjoying the company of family and friends.

The excellent design is accompanied by excellent performance. Supported by twin Man V12-1400 engines delivering 1,400hp each, the yacht cruises at a speed of 14 knots with a top speed of 15 knots. When cruising at 10 knots, the range is maximized to three thousand nautical miles.
