While many think of Lake Tahoe as a summer destination, this winter you might want to rethink your travel plans. The Edgewood Resort in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, has transformed into a winter wonderland for the cooler months and whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or a fun family vacation there is something for everyone in this magical snow-covered lodge on the lake.
The Champagne chalet experience by Veuve Clicquot is a great way to explore the surrounding natural beauty without ever having to leave the resort. Available to guests daily in the afternoon this fun adventure is perfect for celebrating a romantic weekend away together or for a family outing. You can meet your tour guide in the lobby and then start off on this fun trek through the exclusive Edgewood golf course. It is recommended to wear snow gear as the walk is about a 2-mile loop and takes you through the pristine snow-covered meadows and down to the lakeshore where you can see views of Mount Tallac. There is plenty of time to stop for photo ops along the way as you wander through the golf course that truly transforms into an enchanted forest after a fresh snowfall. This complementary experience ends up back at the base of the lodge where you can sit by the fire at the Champagne Chalet and drink in the sunset views while sipping on your glass of bubbly.
While enjoying some much-deserved relaxation after the hike you can also check out the tasty treats delights offered by the head chef-designed specifically to go with the flavors of Veuve Clicquot champagne. For an additional price the menu includes savory smoked venison paired with Veuve Clicquot yellow label, a fresh salmon and scallop Crudo paired with Veuve Clicquot Rose, and finally a cheese, fig, almond, and toasted brioche crostini paired with Veuve Clicquot Grande Dame 2008. The sampling is the perfect snack to end your afternoon at the chalet and tide you over until dinner. To wrap up this magical one-of-a-kind Tahoe experience head back inside to the Edgewood Lodge where you can cozy up by the fireplace with a glass of complimentary hot chocolate during Hot Cocoa social hour. You can order a custom made glass of warm hot chocolate to warm up after this snowy adventure and choose from toppings including peppermint, white chocolate, and fudge syrup. Finally, finish off the night at the ice skating rink in front of the lodge. Available daily starting at 6 pm you can head over to this beautiful ice skating rink filled with twinkling lights and skate surrounded by the snow-covered pines.
This is a truly unique experience to add some glamour to any ski trip this winter. It is also the perfect spot to create some romance and take that special somebody on a memorable trip for Valentine’s Day because this Champagne Chalet will be available to Edgewood guests through February and March before the golf course opens up again in April. While normally guests are not allowed on the golf course in the winter this year you can get an exclusive tour with facts and history about the Edgewood property and Lake Tahoe along the way. The pictures you can get of the pristine snow-covered green against the backdrop of the lake will be unlike anything else you will see during your stay in Tahoe.
