The Euphoria Actor Breaks Out With A New Campaign Featuring A Racy Edition Of The Monaco Watch
The Power Of Gen Z:
The Swiss luxury watch brand TAG Heuer has signed on one of the most promising break-out celebrities Jacob Elordi to be the face of its Monaco watch the La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland brand confirmed today.
TAG Heuer, founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer, has demonstrated a commitment to innovation with revolutionary technologies that have included the oscillating pinion for mechanical stopwatches in 1887 and the Mikrograph in 1916, the first automatic-winding chronograph movement.
The brand’s motto, “Don’t Crack Under Pressure”, expresses the brand’s passion for action and high performance. The 24-year-old Elordi, star of HBO’s Euphoria has already established himself as one of the break-out talents of his young generation. What’s more exciting to me is that The Australian-born actor is slated to play the most significant role in his career in defining a new generation.
Jacob Elordi: “I’ve always been drawn to things that are both classic and timeless so partnering with TAG Heuer was perfect for me. I’ve always admired Hollywood’s iconic leading men, so to wear Monaco – a watch made famous by Steve McQueen – is something special. TAG Heuer has been the epitome of elegance and excellence for over 160 years, and it’s thrilling to be their representative for the next generation.”
Introduced in 1969, the watch already rose to fame when Hollywood slick driver SteveMcqueen wore the watch while playing the lead in the racing film Le Mans in 197
TAG Heuer Monaco:
Truthfully, many of the leading Hollywood men do not dress well. Men have evolved and styles have changed. It is refreshing to see Elordi with a sharp taste in style. And although he sports a super hybrid modern watch, it is his classic handsome looks and tasteful style that sets him apart from other male celebrities.
As the face of the brand, Elordi will represent a timepiece that runs free of convention, and rightly so. When Elordi presented at the Academy Awards ceremony earlier this year, it was no surprise to see him choose to wear a TAG Heuer Monaco with a black dial, white sub-dials, and black alligator strap. It paired perfectly with his tuxedo.
“We are incredibly excited to announce Jacob Elordi as an ambassador for the TAG Heuer Monaco. He is the stand-out star of a new generation, an artist who is unafraid to take risks, taking roles that challenge both himself and the audience. He is also someone who comes fully formed with his own strong sense of timeless style. The TAG Heuer Monaco became the watch for a new generation when it was first launched in 1969 and there is no better standard-bearer for it as it continues to be discovered anew by each generation since,” says TAG Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault.
For Elordi, though, it looks set to just be the start. In March this year, he starred in Deep Water, by Fatal Attraction and Indecent Proposal director Adrian Lyne. Elordi played a university student who finds himself drawn into the orbit of a toxic couple with a dark secret. He will also star in Emerald Fennell’s film “Saltburn.”
