This June, a capsule collection by Christian Louboutin and Idris and Sabrina Elba was born, a collaboration that came about from a friendship the trio struck up several years ago. A hundred percent of the proceeds from the collection go directly to five non-profit organizations across three continents and aims to spark societal change through practical solutions.
The collection features motifs of the Strelitzia reginae, a plant known as “Mandela’s Gold,” that symbolizes hope, empathy, and freedom, as well as the statement, “Walk a Mile in My Shoes,” written in script in the iconic Louboutin red. The five non-profits benefiting from this capsule are the Somali Hope Foundation, Be Rose International Foundation, Immediate Theatre, Purposeful, and Gathering for Justice. The charities were hand-selected by Idris and Sabrina Elba, with causes they personally resonate with.
The collection offers both standout sneakers and sleek loafers, with something for everyone. Whether you prefer a bold print that draws the eye or a subtle but striking detail on a simple canvas, this collection has it all. Standouts include the Freelouis Junior Flat, a sporty and striking sneaker featuring the multicolored Freedom print, and the A Mile in Greggo Flat, an iconic and elegant shape adorned with the capsule’s signature inscription along the outer edge of the shoe. This capsule is a collaboration between friends, an effort to make a concrete change in a practical way. Snag a pair and not only will you be investing in a luxe pair of shoes you’ll treasure forever, but you will be actively contributing to worthy causes. These shoes will undoubtedly become a cherished addition to your closet, for more reasons than one.
