Let’s face it: for many of us, the day doesn’t really start until we’ve had that first cup of coffee. In a fast-paced world, caffeine is key as we all scramble out Type A personalities to keep ahead of the competition. And so, when it comes to crafting the perfect cup of java, we will go to all lengths to find that perfect sip. Homing in on the right beans and roasts is key of course – single estate organic is a good place to start – but half the battle comes in the brewing. The very best baristas have skills akin to alchemy, sometimes mastering processes to arcane, one might feel they will be forever dependent upon that one sublime café to fit the bill. Fortunately, the Jura Z10 takes the mystery out of great coffee brewing. Oh, but you think your coffeemaker has all the tricks built into it? Sorry, but the Jura most certainly do the one thing you can’t…make fully automatic cold coffee.
Cold brew coffee is all the rave from chain coffee houses to the connoisseur’s favorite bistro. And here, the Jura Z10 offers it up at the touch of a button. Oh, and there’s actually eight options available for the cold brew of your choice. Still not impressed. How about an automatic grinder built in that will adjust grinds to the beans that hit it. More of a hot espresso person? Yes, you can do that here, too. Not only that, but there’s also an excellent app you can use to work it. It looks beautiful, and even self-cleans. Easy to use and there’s even a milk frothing option with ten different temperature options. For those of us who have been behind the barista bar, losing the thermometers and cautiously wanding the milk is happily left behind. The only thing missing is the darn thing bringing the cup to your lips for you. Regardless, we are giving this one a 10/10, just the perfect coffee maker all around. – Price: $3,999 – Available at Bloomingdale’s
