Every once in a while Lady Luck visits and in our case she came in the form of a dark wood-wrapped, whiskey and steak hangout directly next door to our office. The Country Club in Costa Mesa, CA is the latest spot to pop up in this rapidly evolving town rich with fantastic restaurants and stiff competition. They are a masculine standout in a field already packed with some heavy-hitters. Executive Chef Zachary Scherer has put his menu together very carefully and delivers a balance and flavor-rich variety perfect for any occasion.
We attended the media preview event and were treated to properly poured draft beers from a great mix of new and favored breweries. Pair those with the Roasted Jidori Chicken Breast with Salsa Verde and you’re good to go. We know you won’t stop there, we didn’t. It’s difficult but we are committed to eating our way through the incredible entrees with great wines by the glass. Be sure to polish the meal off with a dessert and something to sip on.
